Third time lucky for Paranormal Activity

So if you’re like me, and live in a house, chances are you’ve heard something at night that has scared you a little- a creak, the wind knocking something over outside, perhaps a pet running into something in the dark.

It’s not a pleasant experience, especially if your room is as dark at night as mine is.

It’s our primal fear, that fear of the unknown, the fear of dark- that is what Paranormal Activity 3 plays on for an hour and 23 minutes.

If you’ve seen the first two, and thought there has been more action in your own house than there was in the movie for the most part, don’t be fooled, this one is different.

Take the worst bits from the first two movies combined, throw in a covenant of devil-worshipping ladies, a bonfire, a monster that is into hair-pulling, and a demon that likes to dress up as a ghost in a sheet, and you have the third installment of the franchise.

The movie tells the story of the childhood of sisters Katie and Kristi, the two focal points of the first two movies, and their first encounter with the demon that ends up taking over their lives.

Kristi befriends the evil demon named Toby, while the rest of her family begin to notice strange and increasingly alarming happenings throughout the house.

Dennis, the boyfriend of the sister’s mother, decides to begin taping the events throughout the house, keeping with the theme of the first two, and catches all of the happenings on film.

Eventually, the supernatural events in the house become too much for the family to handle, and they flee to the sister’s grandmother’s house.

Without giving the ending away, let’s just say that was a bad move.

Overall, if you saw the first two and thought they were boring, I’d suggest you watch the third, and if you think that one is boring too, I’d say you’ve probably got a demon in your house.
