They are up in the clouds

Festival Hall in Melbourne is filled with anticipation to hear Vampire Weekend, then on comes Cloud Control, the opening act.
Punters are still walking to their seats or onto the floor, but before they sit or find their place, you could see them start listening and revelling in the music.
A boppy electro band, established here in Australia, could appreciate their choice of this band to open for Vampire Weekend.
When the first song finishes, the lead singer turns to the crowd and asks “Did you know that The Beatles have played here?”
The crowd whistles and cries, amazed with this little piece of knowledge, but now realises that is where Cloud Control might get some of their inspiration.
If people from the audience did not recognise the name Cloud Control on their Vampire Weekend ticket, they did when they began playing their single “Gold Canary”, very familiar to the audience.
Though they did not steal the show from Vampire Weekend, I think most would love to see them headlining their own show one day soon.
Though their album which was released on May14, 2010, is not as high-energy as their live performance, and instead seems a lot more soothing, do not be mistaken in thinking that their songs will still put you into that same rocking out trance.
I think their debut album, Bliss Release, will put them at the forefront of everyone’s minds to be waiting for the next one.
Cloud Control is destined to becoming a huge success, especially in their home country.
