Surprisingly emotional Georgia Rule

Georgia Rule centres on rebellious teenager Rachel, whose desperate mother ships her off to her grandmother in a last attempt to end her misbehaviour.

Enter Georgia, Rachel’s ordered, opinionated and strictly religious grandmother. Georgia Rule follows how these three women face their past and discover that no one can ever replace your family.

At first glance, Georgia Rule appears to be a comedy of sorts, making light of the trials that an out of control teenager can create. This is surprisingly not the case. The film does have some extremely funny moments, but it also has incredible heart and emotion.

The realisations and truths revealed throughout the film will bring a tear to most peoples' eyes. The bluntness of the film is enough to truly shock viewers and keep them questioning what they see and hear.

Jane Fonda and Felicity Huffman put in spectacular performances, and despite her controversial personal life, Lindsay Lohan does too. Georgia Rule touches the heart and makes you realise that there is no substitute for family. Truly a film that will make you laugh and cry.
