New British comedy will make you rock

From British director Richard Curtis comes another classic comedy that will make Baby Boomers reminisce, their parents cringe and their kids intrigued about the era that was The Boat that Rocked.

Starring comedy masters Bill Nighy, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Nick Frost, The Boat that Rocked was destined to be a big hit from the time it was cast.

Set in 1966, the film follows the lives of pirate radio station “Radio Rock”, which existed to rebel against the British Government and play non-stop rock and pop music to their loyal and liberal listeners.

The movie will have you shaking with laughter throughout the entire 135 minutes and you will most likely find yourself constantly repeating scenes, as you could not hear what was last said over the laughter.

But the best thing by far about the film is the soundtrack, which consists of major musical hits from the year 1966.

If you can appreciate musical legends such as The Kinks, David Bowie and The Who, then you definitely need to go buy yourself a copy of The Boat that Rocked.
