Foo Fighters shape-up on latest release

The Foo Fighters have made a welcome return to form with their latest offering, Wasting Light.

It is clearly the greatest offering by the "Fooies", as they are known, since 1997’s release The Colour and the Shape

The album kicks off in style with the rocking “Bridge Burning” followed by solid first single “Rope”.

Track 4 “White Limo” is in the mould of “Weenie Beenie” from their self-titled album.

Wasting Light is short of fillers, which have plagued the Foo Fighters' last few albums, with only a couple of tracks going through the motion.

The end of the album contains a couple of gems, with the Stevie Wright-esque “I should have known” a throw-back to Evie Part III.

The stand-out track is the closer “Walk”, which could almost rival “Everlong” as their best work.

The album has already been used as the soundtrack for just about every sport and for good reason - it rocks out from start to finish.
