Deni Hines, who performed at Noosa recently, has refuted claims that she is a diva.

The singer has been embroiled in media reports alleging bad behaviour, the latest claiming that she had verbally abused cheerleaders at a recent Sydney Kings basketball game.

“I’m probably one of the most passive, laidback people you’ll find. That said, I don’t suffer fools lightly and expect honesty, integrity from people and professionalism,” Deni said.

A friend of Deni commented on the reporting of the incident on Livenews, saying it was not an issue.

Deni recently performed in Noosa with James Morrison as part of the Celebration of Australian Food & Wine – Noosa Style.

Their recent collaboration on a jazz album titled The Other Woman reached number one on the Australian jazz charts, Top 10 on the independent charts and Top 100 on the album charts.

“I was blessed to work with the best like James Morrison,” Deni said. “He’s such a genius and makes everything seem so easy.”

Deni will be returning to Noosa to perform with Christine Anu at The J on Friday June 13.
