Soul Annoyed made its debut performance at the Sands Tavern Maroochydore, rocking the crowd in this year’s Battle of the Bands.
Soul Annoyed is a four-piece metal band. Band members are: Neil (vocals), Ryano (lead guitar), Twanger (bass guitar), and Thommo (drums).
The band, which has been together for one year, performed seven original songs at the event.
“Each of us write our own parts and collaborate,” Ryano said.
“We’ve all got different tastes… We’re influenced by hardcore stuff … [like] Kiss … I do my own guitar riffs and Neil writes his own lyrics, and we all just do it,” he said.
Soul Annoyed was the third band to play in the Battle of the Bands. After downing a few drinks and winning two games of pool, they took to the stage and enlivened the crowd with their music.
“We’re not in it to win it [Battle of the Bands],” Ryano said.
“It’s a good opportunity to do a gig, and it’s our first one anyway,” he said.
Unfortunately for Soul Annoyed, it did not win the Battle of the Bands, but the band has launched its career, and has been invited to perform at other venues on the coast; an opportunity that they do not want to miss.
