The ARIA Award winning singer songwriter has produced many of the tracks on this album.
Once again Pyke has weaved a rich tapestry of words and melody as he did with his first full album Memories and Dust.
The album has a mix of the catchy tunes Pyke is known for as well as slower tracks such as the debut single The Lighthouse Song.
However Pyke has not lost his sense of homemade quirkiness.
The second music video released this week Make You Happy features Pyke’s own fans barbecuing and lounging by the water in retro attire, not to mention Pyke hightailing it around in a very special guitar boat.
In The Summer Pyke journeys back to the idyllic summers of his childhood, establishing those times as a benchmark for how he wants his life now.
Pyke reflects upon what it is to settle down and the responsibilities to come with that in Don’t Wanna Let You Down.
Once again the listener is taken into Pyke’s world and the challenges and insecurities he faces.
Most people can relate to at least one, if not more, of the themes Pyke expresses through song whether that be the trepidation felt about settling down with a partner or wondering if there is really a plan for us all.
Josh Pyke fans will undoubtedly love this new album and will be waiting anxiously for a national tour.
