Can't take my eyes off Heath Ledger

Even Heath Ledger’s biggest fan who knows everything about him will enjoy this tribute to his amazing life and career.

A must-read tribute to a talented, beautiful and caring person who was taken from this world far too early.

Chris Roberts attempts to cover the amazing career and life of a much-loved Aussie in A Tribute to Heath Ledger the Illustrated Biography.

Whether you hated him or loved him – lets face it everybody loved him – this book is an amazing journey through the life of a very mysterious person.

Although he was a world-wide superstar on the big screen Heath Ledger was a very private and personal man.

You will learn about his childhood, his home town, first acting job and the decision to leave behind his potential sporting career and family business to pursue his acting career.

Readers take the journey with Ledger as he talked about his acting roles he had and the personal achievements he made.

Not only do you take the professional journey, you take a step into the private world of a person they referred to as “Hollywood’s private man”.

You live his life with him as he falls in and out of love, and the arrival of his greatest achievement – his daughter, Matilda Rose.

Then, the journey ends with a heart felt statement from his family after the sudden and shock death of a truly marvellous Australian.

Readers can literally see the life of a young Aussie grow into a Hollywood star with many full-colour images.

The images perfectly represent his life and career and add an extra dimension that makes this biography one of the best I have read.

From the bubbly and happy Heath on the front cover all the way through to him giving his fans a wave, you experience his world as you turn every page.

You pick up the book with a cheeky smile, turn the last page to wave good-bye and close the book with a tear in your eye.

10 Things I hate about this book:

I hate the way you talk to me,

and the way you make me share.

I hate the way you show a star,

and then he is just not there.

I hate your heart-felt words,

and the way they stay in my mind.

I hate it when you make me laugh,

even worse when you make me cry.

I hate that I can’t put you down,

believe me, I really do try.

But mostly I hate the way I don’t hate you,

not even close

not even a little bit,

Not even at all.

Jamie, I was forcing back tears as I read your touching review. I loved Heath in Two Hands and Brokeback Mountain. Can't wait to see his last film 'The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus'.

Jamie, your review was very insightful, I though the ‘10 Things I hate about this book’ poem was clever.
