500 Days of Summer a rollercoaster of love

Emily Oswin,
Jumpy, inconsistent, the highest of highs and the lowest of lows, 500 days of Summer depicts the perfect scenario of boy meets girl in a realistic world.
This romantic comedy is literally a rollercoster ride of a man’s wishful relationship with a new girl in the office.
Skipping from day to month, year to day, it often becomes quite confusing as to where poor Tom (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) stands with his beloved Summer (Zooey Deschanel).
However, director Marc Webb shows a side of men that most movies often miss, and indeed, men, just like women, experience emotions such as depression, dance around like no one is watching and even have feelings (suprise, suprise!).
Most of the time, the girl falls in love with the guy, but the guy does not feel the same way or has another girl on the agenda.
This story paints the picture of how most of the time, realisticly, love does not work out the way you want it to and that fairytale endings are just a figure of your imagination.
